British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a PDM Manager – CAD & System Specialist in Southampton
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
To support and drive adoption and understanding of a unified Mechanical CAD system at BAT, embedding best system setup & practices. The MCAD solution is embedded within the Teamcenter PDM system, the BAT digital backbone, so it is essential to have a deep solid understanding of the system, and its core capabilities.
A key objective is to assist the Senior PDM Manager – System Specialist in developing and introducing new PDM capabilities, system administration and critically the full testing and support of these systems focusing on NX and 3D CAD capabilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Mechanical CAD Management – including system config, templates, and advanced config.
- Management of key, specialist Teamcenter modules such as Product Configurator or Classification.
- System administration using Rich Client or AWC
- Management & Oversight of Supplier collaboration CAD Imports and workflows, using product development & system experience to drive system improvements and ensure data quality is good.
- Support internal users with focused CAD training and internal ways of working.
- Coordinate with both Internal & External IT and PLM teams to support system upgrades, patches, and license management.
- Management of NX and Teamcenter integration, including templates, configurations, data structures, and release workflows.
- Full testing and support of Teamcenter, NX and any new capabilities focusing on NX and 3D CAD.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in Teamcenter Integrated with Siemens NX CAD and experience in Rich Client, a good understanding of BMide, Data Model and System administration.
- Management of Siemens NX and Teamcenter integration, including templates, configurations, data structures, and release workflows.
- Configuration and deployment of Siemens NX environment packages, including drafting standards, part templates, and customer-specific settings.
- Siemens NX advanced user part modelling, surface modelling and assembly management.
- Ability to train and mentor users and drive system improvements.
- Ability to manage NX and Teamcenter integration, including templates, configurations, data structures, and release workflows.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Relevant Engineering Subject
- Siemens Certified Engineer for NX (must be current), Siemens NX fundamentals & advanced certificates for training and Siemens Certified Engineer for Teamcenter (must be current), covering Version 24.XX or later.
Beneficial
- Experience and understanding of other CAD packages (such as Solidworks & Autodesk) in order to understand differing process and data types.
- System administration and user experience in a recent AWC version of Teamcenter, v14 or later.
- Project management experience
- Change Management experience / awareness
- Experience of using Adobe Studio and working with adobe file types.
