The Control Room Specialist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and coordinating all activities related to production operations from the control room. This role ensures safe, efficient, and continuous plant operation by overseeing process equipment, responding to alarms, communicating with field operators, and supporting real‑time decision-making. The position plays a key role in maintaining product quality, equipment reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Monitor plant equipment, process controls, instrumentation, and automated systems from the control room.
• Adjust process parameters to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
• Respond immediately to alarms, abnormal conditions, or equipment malfunctions.
• Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Serve as the central communication point for operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
• Issue work notifications and log operational events in shift reports.
• Dispatch field operators to perform manual checks, inspections, or adjustments as needed.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.
• Monitor safety systems and escalate incidents following established protocols.
• Ensure proper documentation for safety events, near misses, and process deviations.
• Maintain accurate logs of operational changes, downtime, alarms, and equipment status.
• Prepare shift turnover reports to ensure seamless communication between teams.
• Support quality documentation related to production batches or process variations.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Recommend automation or procedural improvements to enhance system performance.

What are we looking for?

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, utilities, or process control.
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with HMIs, SCADA, or PLC‑based systems.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and operate calmly in fast‑paced environments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Associate degree in Industrial Technology, Process Operations, or related field.
• Experience in a 24/7 plant environment (e.g., chemicals, power, plastics, metals).
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
