REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll III in Winston-Salem, NC
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Process monthly U.S. payroll and semi- monthly Canadian payroll ensuring accurate and timely completion of scheduled and off-cycle payrolls; support biweekly payrolls and serve as backup for other Payroll Analysts.
- Maintain and reconcile the International Assignee Payment and Refund Tax Tracker, including amounts due to and from employees and tax authorities, partnering with external vendors (e.g., Ernst & Young) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Validate taxable relocation and imputed income files and monitor payroll interfaces, including relocation, severance, and other inbound and outbound system files.
- Maintain accurate employee tax profiles and process updates related to address changes, job transfers, and other employee status changes.
- Enter, review, and monitor payroll transactions; perform comprehensive pre- and post-payroll audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Research, resolve, and respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner while safeguarding the confidentiality of HR and payroll data.
- Execute quarterly and annual payroll-related SOX controls and run ad hoc payroll and audit reports to support reconciliations, compliance, and analysis.
- Monitor and validate 401(k) employee and employer contributions to ensure compliance with IRS limits Top of Form

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with hands-on experience using VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and other advanced functions.
- Hands on experience processing corporate payroll, including exempt/non-exempt employees, executive compensation, equity transactions
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- 4+ years in corporate payroll environment with 3,000+ exempt and non-exempt employees
- Experience with SAP Payroll (Employee Central (EC) Payroll) preferred
- Timekeeping system knowledge UKG preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude to understand data flow and system integrations.
- Strong interpersonal skills – will be working with service providers and employees
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Payroll certification desirable (FPC or CPP)
- Proven experience with multiple state payroll processing.
