ROLE PROFILE – COMMERCIAL FINANCE MANAGER, WESA
Grade: 35
Function: Finance
Sub-Function: Commercial Finance
Reporting to: Head of Commercial Finance – WESA
Role Purpose
To lead and coordinate commercial finance activities across WESA (14 markets), partnering with end markets and regional leadership to drive sustainable growth, optimise pricing and investment decisions, and deliver robust financial planning, forecasting and governance in line with BAT standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute commercial planning cycles (SOP, Budget, Latest Estimates) ensuring alignment to strategic priorities
- Support pricing strategy, revenue growth management and margin optimisation across markets
- Provide decision support through robust financial analysis, insights and business case evaluation
- Commercial finance governance, ensuring compliance with BAT policies and control frameworks
- Manage and optimise trade spend, marketing OPEX/CAPEX and ROI performance
- Partner with End Markets and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Legal, Finance) to enhance commercial performance
- Standardise and continuously improve tools, processes and reporting across WESA
- Support revenue assurance and credit risk management across markets
- Drive efficiency, automation and data-driven decision-making across commercial finance

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline
- Professional qualifications (CPA / ACCA / CIMA / CA)
- +5 years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering
- Strong understanding of pricing, route-to-market and consumer dynamics
- Experience in FMCG or similar fast-paced environment
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, governance and IFRS standards
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel and data visualisation tools (Power BI)
- Experience operating in multi-market or regional roles
- Project management and business case development experience
