British American Tobaccohas an exciting opportunity for a Head of Security in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Development and management of VN security and the position is the lead role in the provision of Business Continuity Planning and Security Services across Vietnam Cluster. To ensure a consistent, comprehensive business integrated security service for the safety and security of our employees, contractors, products and assets. The Head of Security will facilitate the execution of the Group's Business Continuity Management. The role will assist the business with all aspects of business continuity planning, which includes identifying business impacts analysis, documenting contingency plans, conduct testing, training and communication. This role also ensures that Leadership Team are regular updated about the security risks and mitigating plan, compliance status of internal control environment in an accurate, concise and timely manner.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide timely security risk assessments and threat analysis to support informed decision-making across all business functions.
- Develop and implement security strategies aligned with company objectives and the Security Risk Management (SRM) framework.
- Maintain and continuously improve security policies, procedures, and practices to safeguard personnel, assets, and operations.
- Lead investigations into security breaches, whistleblowing cases, and serious offenses, reporting findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Act as the primary liaison with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and external security networks.
- Coordinate Crisis Management and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities, ensuring readiness for various contingencies.
- Conduct regular crisis simulation exercises (e.g., product contamination, supply chain disruption, facility unavailability).
- Monitor global and local socio-political developments that may impact business operations.
- Drive security awareness programs and training across the organization and with key business partners.
- Identify and implement innovative security technologies and practices to enhance protection and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, EHS, IT Security, and Marketing Controls to ensure a unified approach to risk and controls.
- Build strong relationships with the Vietnam Leadership Team and internal stakeholders to integrate security into business operations.
- Manage and coach security personnel to ensure high performance and alignment with business needs.
- Optimize the security budget and ensure cost-effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Support regional and global security teams as needed, contributing to cross-market knowledge sharing and alignment.
What are we looking for?
- Comprehensive knowledge of security risk management and investigation management
- High level of communications skills with ability to explain and defend difficult issues with respect to key decisions/ complex concepts.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines.
- Proven track record of strong leadership skills in the management of security operations.
- Understanding the issues and the legal framework and be capable of compliant with legal requirements.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Able to carry out relevant risk assessment(s) of the potential threats to personnel, assets, information, installations and business operations, and take appropriate security/ mitigation measures including the development of procedures and plans.
- Able to provide appropriate resources to protect all Company assets and personnel in an effective manner.
- Establish effective networking to support all functions to achieve business objectives i.e. develop integrated security management.
- Planning and execution of dynamic contingency plans to counter crises facing the Company.
- Maintenance of effective liaison with relevant government authorities especially Law Enforcement Agencies and industry related Security Managers.
- Conduct investigations including fraud and information / IT security related matters.
