British American Tobacco Vietnam has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Officer in Binh Chanh Factory, HCMC
Role Positioning and Objectives
This Role is a centralized resource to drive the quality performance and compliance for SMDJV, Vietnam. The role is hands-on and factory-facing, with involvement in product specifications, laboratory operations, equipment calibration, product trials, and quality system deployment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Product & Quality Control
- Manage product specifications and ensure correct issuance to the production floor
- Coordinate material and perform Bill of Materials (BOM) management, update with relevant teams accordingly
- Support product changes, manage trial runs on floor, and new product introductions
- Ensure PQI samples are collected, tested, and reported on time, in full (OTIF).
- Conduct product registration and barcode management for new products/re-registration of products
- Ensure quality of NPI products and compliance, improving turnaround time of samples and lab analyses/results
Laboratory & Equipment Management
- Support laboratory testing activities and result reporting
- Coordinate internal and external calibration of quality equipment management
- Ensure equipment availability and minimal downtime
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Support implementation of quality assurance systems and documentation
- Monitor quality performance and raise issues when abnormalities are detected
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Work closely with production, planning, maintenance, and quality teams
- Support deployment of quality improvement initiatives, planning and driving experiments and planning on new product trail and modified process at factory level
- Build effective working relationships with external suppliers, service providers and cross-functional teams
What are we looking for?
- Degree or diploma in science or technical background (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Engineering)
- At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing quality role
- Be able to communicate well in English & Vietnamese both verbally & in writing
- Possess presentation skills to deliver training & make presentations
- Good interpersonal skills to build collaborative working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Possess intermediate IT skill: MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, SPC Tools, e-ISO documentation system.
- Experience in quality assurance system, ISO 17025, ISO 9000, TQM and operation excellences.
- Possess analytical skills in interpreting quality data
Beneficial
- Able to develop and deliver basic quality and hygiene-related training (e.g.: infestation awareness, 5S training)
- Knowledgeable with SAP systems
- Familiar with filter rode, cigarette making and packing operations
- Knowledgeable of infestation control, pest & hygiene management, product integrity and traceability
