British American Tobacco Vietnam has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Officer in our Binh Chanh Factory, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

  • This Role is a centralized resource to drive the quality performance and compliance for SMDJV, Vietnam.
  • This Role works collaboratively with cross functions and cross entities to ensure payroll, employee benefits and facility services are addressed in an efficient and confidential manner.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Product Specification management: coordinate and work closely with RPC and issue the Specification to production floor. Work with Master data team to ensure all material data be maintained properly, BOM Sync. OTIF and Specification update accordingly.
  • BOM management: BOM sync., manual BOM change, material change/update…
  • Quality equipment management: Maintain equipment in tip top condition with minimum down time or unavailability. Follow up the periodic equipment calibration (internal & external calibration).
  • Innovation:  Ensure Quality of NPI products compliance Improve turn-around time of samples and laboratory analyses /results for decision making, incoming check for all materials trial, manage trial run on floor and report.
  • Product Registration- Barcode Management: documents preparation and register for new product/ re- registration product.
  • Sample deliver: Ensure the PQI samples are collected, full report OTIF.
  • IWS: QBOS DMS owner, support Line Manager/Pillar Leader to deploy program from Q Pillar to factory.
  • Strong collaborative working relationships within cross functional for the quality management.
  • External: build up the working relationship with Quality equipment suppliers, Pest service suppliers, PMD team, regional team, others Opco team.
  • Raise alarm or red flag if undesirable quality or anomalies detected.
  • Self-development by undertaking a capability gap analysis (leadership & functional competency) then pro-active drive development plan to ensure the skill and knowledge levels are met expectations.
  • Hold the meeting with relevant members to find out solutions to problems
  • Work with QA Manager & Product Analyst to plan and implement experiments
  • Work with Product Maintenance & Process and Planning on new product trial and modified process, samples collection.

What are we looking for?

  • University/Colleges Graduated in Technical and/or Science background (Physics, Chemistry), with 3 years working experience in a laboratory environment in similar capacity. 
  • Experience in quality assurance system, ISO 17025, ISO 9000, TQM and operation excellences.
  • Knowledge of infestation control will be an advantage 
  • Computer literate (MS Office package, e-ISO documentation system, SPC and data analysis)
  • Be familiar with Filter rode, Cigarette making and Packing operations.
  • Pest & Hygiene Management
  • Product Integrity & Traceability
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Be able to influence & motivate the local operating staff.
  • Possess good training skill. Possess analytical skills in interpreting quality data
  • Be able to communicate well in English & Vietnamese both verbally & in writing.
  • Able to develop training materials (e.g. weevil infestation awareness, 5S training) & deliver the training
  • Must be a team player, both within the company & with external suppliers, vendors, contractors, other BAT OpCos
  • Possess presentation skills to deliver training & make presentations
  • The incumbent will be required to go through trainings in infestation control and use of agrochemical. Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System will be acquired in the course of work
  • Possess intermediate IT skill namely MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, SPC Tools.
