Pakistan Tobacco Company has an exciting opportunity for Area IDT Manger - Data & Analytics - APMEA Central in Islamabad, Pakistan
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and execution of the Data & Analytics strategy and roadmap, translating business priorities into scalable data, analytics, AI and automation capabilities that drive business performance, growth and long-term value.
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to business, functional and technology leaders, shaping Data & Analytics priorities and direction, defining business, data and technology requirements, influencing strategic decisions and championing data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
- Own and govern the Data & Analytics portfolio across all functions, leading demand management, investment prioritisation, financial and resource planning, business case development, delivery oversight, risk management and benefits realisation from concept through implementation, adoption and operational embedding.
- Establish and continuously evolve the Data & Analytics operating model, defining governance, funding, delivery and capability structures that enable effective execution, strengthen organisational maturity and maximise the value of Data & Analytics investments.
- Lead the identification, evaluation and deployment of Data & Analytics products, platforms and advanced capabilities, including analytics, AI/GenAI, automation and data science solutions, ensuring they are scalable, sustainable and deliver measurable commercial, operational and strategic outcomes.
- Define and drive data architecture, governance and data management strategies, establishing trusted, secure and scalable data foundations through effective ownership, stewardship, data quality, privacy, security, compliance and responsible data practices.
- Partner with global/regional Data & Analytics teams, enterprise architecture, technology functions and business stakeholders to align enterprise and functional priorities, anticipate evolving business needs, establish shared capabilities and enable the effective integration and adoption of Data & Analytics solutions.
- Provide senior leadership and representation for Data & Analytics, contributing to leadership forums, governance bodies and steering committees while leading high-performing teams, strategic partners and external industry relationships. Build organisational capability and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the Data & Analytics landscape.
What are we looking for?
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Management, Digital Transformation or related technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of shaping and delivering data-led transformation and measurable business outcomes within complex organisations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing Data & Analytics strategies, roadmaps and transformation programmes, translating business priorities into scalable data, analytics, AI and automation capabilities that deliver sustainable business value.
- Strong strategic stakeholder management, influencing and consulting skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships with senior business, functional, technology and data leaders, align diverse priorities and drive decision-making across functions and markets.
- Proven experience leading complex Data & Analytics portfolios and transformation initiatives, including demand management, investment prioritisation, business case development, governance, financial and resource planning, vendor management, delivery oversight and benefits realisation.
- Strong business, commercial and technology acumen, with the ability to understand organisational priorities, identify opportunities and translate complex business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions.
- Broad experience across Data & Analytics disciplines, including business intelligence, reporting, analytics, data modelling, data warehousing, data platforms and enterprise data management, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and business value.
- Strong understanding of modern Data & Analytics architectures and technologies, including cloud data platforms, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation and emerging data ecosystems. Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or similar technologies is advantageous.
- Experience establishing and embedding data architecture, governance, data quality, privacy, security and compliance frameworks, including effective stewardship of trusted data assets and the responsible management of sensitive and personally identifiable information.
- Experience designing or evolving Data & Analytics operating models and organisational capabilities, including governance structures, ways of working, shared services, capability development and business engagement models.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts, navigate ambiguity, develop compelling business cases and influence outcomes through clear, business-focused recommendations.
- Proven experience leading geographically distributed teams, specialist resources, strategic technology partners and external vendors, fostering collaboration, capability development, innovation and sustained high performance across multicultural environments.
- Strong awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies and leading practices, with the curiosity and strategic mindset to drive innovation, continuous improvement and the evolution of Data & Analytics capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related discipline. A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification would be advantageous.
