British American Tobacco Indonesia has an exciting opportunity for a Products Regulatory Compliance Managerin Malang, Indonesia.
To apply knowledge of Product Regulatory Compliance (PRC) processes, ingredients and materials and relevant tobacco product and chemical legislation to manage the compliance workload. Drive process improvement activities in PRC and embed best practices into business as usual.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage and deliver PRC assessments, regulatory reporting and SDS ensuring compliance with BAT Product Guidance, Duty of Care standards, and legal requirements.
- Implement effective PRC processes and ensure interested parties adhere to compliance requirements while maintaining strict confidentiality of supplier information.
- Lead, train, and coach individuals on PRC processes, SOPs, and WIDs to provide guidance and quality checks where necessary.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and cross-functional collaborators including IT teams to manage disclosures, resolve issues, map processes and test systems.
- Drive process improvements and innovation, improving communication with collaborators and updating guidance, SOPs, and training materials.
- Plan and manage medium- to long-term workloads, compile metrics on delivery and effectiveness and support budget forecasting and financial controls.
- Maintain a network of internal and external contacts including regulatory groups of other tobacco companies to support stewardship of BAT products and third-party manufacturing.
- Leverage product knowledge (e.g., consumables, heated products, vapour), PRC systems (SAP, 3DX, PCMT, GESI) and regulatory frameworks (GHS, technical files) to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
What are we looking for?
- Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant science or legal field, or demonstrable experience with a proven track record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and reasoning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, data collection, and general analysis tools; strong Excel skills preferred.
- Maintains awareness of current and emerging tobacco regulatory environments.
- Able to manage upwards and across peers to gather information and influence decision-making at all levels.
- Works independently while effectively engaging and influencing within a complex matrix structure.
- Proactive and confident in handling ambiguity and tight deadlines.
- Strong standout colleague with a positive “can-do” attitude and effective problem-solving skills.
