British American Tobacco Poland has an exciting opportunity for a Forecasting and Planning Specialist in Warsaw
Purpose of this role is to support local demand forecasting processes and contribute to accurate prediction of multi-category product demand.
This position involves preparing demand forecasts, maintaining planning data, supporting forecasting routines and collaborating with cross-functional teams to help ensure optimal inventory levels.
Goal is to support avoidance of out of stocks, reduction of excess inventory and improvement of overall supply chain efficiency in close collaboration with Supply Chain.
The role supports commercial decision-making by providing accurate analysis, maintaining planning inputs and helping align demand plans with business objectives. It entails analysing performance metrics, identifying potential risks and opportunities, and preparing clear inputs for planning discussions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Demand forecasting support: Support execution of demand forecasting processes across categories, customers and channels, using planning systems and tools to help ensure product availability and optimal inventory levels.
- Forecast preparation and maintenance: Prepare and maintain multi-category demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, activation plans, consumer insights and business intelligence. Support SKU-level, customer-level, monthly and weekly planning as well as forecast uploads to planning systems.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Insights & Foresights, CE Growth Management, local Finance, Trade Marketing, Category, Consumer Experience and Supply Chain teams to collect inputs, understand demand drivers and support alignment of demand plans with business objectives.
- Performance analysis: Monitor demand planning performance metrics, analyse forecast accuracy and bias, identify deviations and prepare recommendations to improve forecast quality and responsiveness to market changes.
- Scenario planning support: Support preparation of business case scenarios for specific initiatives, such as product launches and consumer activations, by providing data analysis and planning assumptions.
- Inventory monitoring: Track inventory-related indicators, highlight potential out-of-stock or excess stock risks and support Operations and Supply Chain with relevant analysis and planning inputs.
- Risk identification: Identify potential risks and opportunities impacting demand plans and escalate them with supporting analysis to enable timely mitigation actions.
- S&OP process support: Support demand forecast-related topics in relevant forums such as DRM and S&I by preparing data, pre-reads, dashboards and follow-up materials, ensuring transparency of the latest demand forecast versus business objectives, opportunities and risks.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular planning reports, ensuring that S&OP-related inputs and outputs are provided on time and in full to local and above-market stakeholders.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify and improve demand forecasting, data management and reporting processes, and support implementation of agreed improvements.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in demand planning or related roles within the FMCG industry.
- Experience in working with data, preparing reports and supporting business planning processes.
- Interest in demand forecasting, inventory management and commercial decision support.
Technical/ Functional/ Leadership Skills Required:
- Good understanding of demand planning methodologies, tools and software, or strong willingness to develop in this area.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
- Structured, organised and independent working style with attention to quality, detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with large data sets, identify trends and translate data into clear insights.
- Ability to describe complex data and intercorrelations in a concise manner.
- Flexibility, resilience and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work within a matrix organization and cooperate with multiple stakeholders.
Education/ Qualifications/ Certifications Required:
- University degree, preferably in Marketing, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics or related field.
- Relevant professional certification or training in planning, analytics or supply chain is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI systems would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Kinaxis or other demand planning tools is a plus.
- Fluent Polish skills are required; communicative English skills.
